Okefenokee Swamp Sallies were designed to catch fliers in the Okefenokee Swamp, but they work many places for lots of species. Whether pitched on bream buster poles, flung with a fly rod, or suspended underneath a float, they are deadly on panfish.
I regularly use the Catalpa #6 on the Satilla River for redbreast sunfish, and many folks have reported excellent catches with #8 yellow sallies for bluegills in ponds.
In the Okefenokee, they are extremely effective when a small, white plastic trailer is threaded on the bend of the hook.
